General manager Jim Hendry picked a good time to go watch Ryne Sandberg manage the Iowa Cubs during the stretch drive.
Trailing 13-6 going into the top of the ninth at Albuquerque, the I-Cubs scored nine runs, taking a 15-13 lead on a three-run home run by third baseman Marquez Smith. Justin Berg got the win and Jason Dubois drove in six runs.

I'm not going to dispute any notions about the makeup of a typical Cub fan because many of them disgust me and keep real fans from enjoying the game. But I love this whole: "I haven't been to a game all year (even though the Sox have been in first place and in the thick of the race since June) but when they get to the playoffs I'll be sitting in Mannywood baby!"
I dunno, to me that is the exact definition of riding the bandwagon. But if it makes you feel better to say "we are showing ownership what we want with our pocketbook and will only support a winner", go right ahead. And wear your Patrick Kane shirt while you are at it.
Hey Dragon, just thought you'd like to know, a fair weather fan, what you accuse Cub fans of being, is someone who is only committed to the team when they're doing well, which is what YOU do. Also like you probably did with the Blackhawks this year. A DIE HARD, as you claim to be, is a fan that supports the team regardless of good or bad, which is what THEY do. I'm guessing college was never in your 5-year plan.
