-- The second string run defense looks worse than the first string run defense. That's a good thing, isn't it?
-- The difference in speed between the first and second string is clearly evident.
-- Kevin Malast is making plays like a guy who does not intend on being cut this weekend. He got the start at middle linebacker because both Brian Urlacher and Hunter Hillenmeyer sat it out. Malast has done some good things this preseason, and he also had a few bad moments Saturday. He might be worth keeping around on the practice squad if nothing else.
-- Rashied Davis isn't going away either. He has been consistent throughout camp and in preseason games. He made a couple of nice catches in the second quarter to solidify his position.
-- Better to see Todd Collins creamed by an unblocked blitzer than to see Jay Cutler creamed by an unblocked blitzer.
-- Given the problems the Bears have had with field goal attempts, it was nice to see Robbie Gould hit a 46-yarder.
-- If you were riveted by the first half, just wait until the second.

I don't get this. We sign a re-tread QB while saying that we are trying to fix the QB situation long-term putting Caleb Hanie and Dan Leflour (SP) on the bubble. The Packers once had four future Pro bowl QBs on their camp roster. What does this admin not get about building QB depth?
