Carmelo Anthony reportedly would rather be traded than sign a new deal with Denver. (MCT)
The Denver Post reports: The Nuggets want to get a firm, final answer from Carmelo Anthony on whether he wants to remain in Denver, and the two sides are expected to formally meet soon. Denver offered a three-year, $65 million contract extension early this summer and Anthony has not responded.
Yahoo Sports, citing NBA sources, reported that Anthony would like to be traded before the season and that he prefers to go to either the Bulls or Knicks. New Nuggets general manager Masai Ujiri said last week that he would try to convince Anthony to stay. But if Anthony won't sign an extension, the Nuggets will seek a trade rather than let him leave as a free agent next summer.

I agree to keep GIBSON over NOAH. Taj is getting a lot of respect now. Getting Melo just put the Bulls as another dream team level. Miami's dream is in trouble if this happen.
I say make the deal as long as NOAH is out of it. Im not thrilled about letting Gibson go either. A deal for Deng, Gibson, Johnson, and a no 1 is a good deal for both sides. Bulls better make sure he signs the extension when they make the deal. The thought of ASIK being a starting center brings back Dalibor or DRAGAN memories.... Creepy
I'd like to see how the Bulls play with their current team. I think they will be surprisingly good. But if they get Melo for Deng, Johnson, Gibson and one #1 pick . . . do it. But KEEP Noah.
The Bulls should give up only Deng, Johnson, Gibson and a 1st rd. pick for Melo. heres why. the contracts does match. plus they are offering more than the Knicks can offer. the Bulls are giving them a future. but they don't want to take on Dengs contract. here's the deal. first. Carmello would have to be resigned before the deal can be done. and If we take on Mello's contract. plus adding a young and talented Taj Gibson and a 1st rd. pick. then I'm sorry nuggetsfan. your team can certainly take on Dengs contract. thats not getting anything for free. Its better than keeping him and losing him without anything In return next year.
I agree with nuggetsfan. As a Bulls(or any teams fan) fan, I always want something for nothing HOWEVER that is not based in reality. You must take your chances. To obtain an Anthony, you must consider both Deng and Noah plus either draft picks, money or another contract that matches up with the caps. Be smart when proposing trades.
Get Melo!! Bulls need a go to guy Player. Noah is just a dirty player. Omer Asik and Taj Gibson can fill that position. So i think it's better to get Melo of Deng-Noah. not a bad lineup for the Bulls.
C-Asik
PF-Boozer
SF-Anthony
SG-Brewer
PG-Rose
6-Korver
7-Watson
8-Gibson
9-Thomas
10-Johnson
Have we all forgotten that just a seasn and a half ago EVERYBODY in Chicago thought Noah was a bust???? Now he is able to get you back a player like this?????
It's Carmelo......bye bye Noah.
The Bulls should offer Deng, Gibson, Johnson, and both number 1s, but NOT Noah. Think about it. What chance will those number 1's have of playing , or even making the Bulls squad? Plus, unloading Deng's contract is worth sweetening the pot a bit...
This deal of giving up Noah for Carmelo kind of reminds me of the deal that brought in Cartwright for Oakley back in the day. I still say try to persuade Denver to take Deng, Gibson,Johnson and picks instead of giving up Noah. Noah is the key to contending with the big front lines of some of the teams in the league.
Joakim Noah should be untouchable. No way I would give this guy up for Melo.
I will believe this when it actually happens.
We just went through this whole thing.
Would I trade Noah for Carmelo?
In a heartbeat!
Noah is a good solid player but let's not pretend that he is in the same league as Anthony.
The Bulls Kool-Aid has been tasting better as of late but you would have to put a lot of vodka in there to turn down this deal.
That kind of thinking is how the Bulls ending up paying a ton for Deng instead of having Kobe in Chicago.
If they could somehow swing this trade without giving up Noah, I'm all for it. Melo is a better fit than Lebron because he doesn't have to create his own shot to score....and he is a great perimeter shooter.
Yeah, they can't have Joakim.... I want Anthony, but not a the cost of giving up Noah.
Reports out of Denver are that the trade would be Deng and Noah for Melo. Problem is that the Nuggets don's want to pay Deng's long term contract. Hopefully the Bulls jack their All-Star in Hoops, just like the Bears did in football.
Thanks Melo for saying Chicago or NY. The Knicks would have to give up a lot for Melo and still they would be years away from a top 3 team in the East. For the Bulls Deng, Gibson, Johnson, and either the Bulls #1 pick or the Bulls #1 pick from Charlotte. Two players (Deng for sure. Gibson likely) and the pick from Charlotte would be as much as the Bulls would go.
CAN THIS OFFSEASON GET ANY BETTER?
GET HIM NOW!!!!!!!
