BOSTON -- After a disappointing 2010 season with Triple-A Charlotte, Tyler Flowers is going to do anything the White Sox ask of him in order to improve his stock.
"If they want me to go (to winter ball), I'm in," said Flowers, who batted .220 with 16 home runs but struck out 121 times in 346 at-bats. "They might not want me to go, either. I caught a fair bit."
But Pierzynski will become a free agent after this season and is experiencing an off-year. Flowers was once touted as the Sox's catcher of the future, but that talk has quieted.
"I''m going to play attention to what we're doing to the other teams, listen to what Coop (pitching coach Don Cooper) and the other guys have to say," Flowers said. "I'm going to try to be as prepared as I can with the scouting reports and I might as well start retaining that information."
Flowers said his catching skills have improved, but he needs to get accustomed to the Sox's pitching staff. From an offensive standpoint, he was more disappointed with his inconsitency than his low numbers.
"It was just an inconsistent approach that I had made it
hard to succeed," Flowers said.

Flowers has not even been rated a good minor league catcher. He should be trade bait, not the Sox catcher next year, unless they have no further interest in being contenders.
Olivo? Been there, done that. Not that great. Martinez would be a cut up, but would the Sox pay his salary demands? Bringing AJ back would be a satisfactory second choice.
Oh, Lil Nel and tic tok tic tok, don't be so upset your Cubs stink on ice...and have for over 100 years! You should switch loyalties and come to the Southside!

Two names who can replace A.J. next season and provide good service. Victor Martinez and (or) Miguel Olivo. Both are free agents.

..............
Martinez would NEVER come to the White Sox.

No wonder Kenny Williams trades away so many prospects - he knows that they'll regress the longer they stay in the White Sox farm system. Look how quickly they called up Chris Sale. They didn't want him to learn any bad habits in the minors.
The two previous comments are no doubt from a couple of guys who greatly miss servicing Mr. Cub, Sammy Sosa. Gasssss, they gone!
Twins magic number : 26
Tic tok, tic tok,
we dont need Morel, we got the Teahan party.
Looks like he better pay more attention to what Greg Walker has to say than what Coop has to say. That .220 with striking out 1 of every 3 AB's - looks like he'll be AJ's heir apparent.
White Sox farm system, 'There are traditions, and there are White Sox traditions'.
Another drug cheat on the White Sox? If you are ever going to make a team, this is the right one for you T Flowers.
