The battle between Israel Idonije and Mark Anderson continues to be an intriguing one.

Idonije will start his second consecutive game at left defensive end in front of Anderson. Now, keep in mind the starters won't play a lot, but Anderson was getting the bulk of the looks early in the preseason. Anderson continues to play with a broken middle finger and pulled groin.

Quarterback Jay Cutler and linebacker Brian Urlacher headline the players sitting out for the Bears. Both are healthy but are resting, as is center Olin Kreutz. Todd Collins starts for Cutler, Kevin Malast for Urlacher, and Josh Beekman for Kreutz.

Also out are linebackers Lance Briggs (ankle) and Nick Roach (knee surgery), safeties Craig Steltz (ankle) and Major Wright (finger surgery), receiver Earl Bennett (hamstring), and quarterback Caleb Hanie (shoulder).

Brian Iwuh starts for Briggs at weak-side linebacker while Pisa Tinoisamoa starts against at strong-side linebacker.

I just watched Tom Brady and Eli Manning play 2 series each.... Thank God Cutler isn't playing... Because we all know how much better Cutler understands his offense compared to Brady.... Brady must be slow learner because he's been in the same system for over 5 years and he has to play in the 4th preseason game. Poor Brady....
