Add Igor Makarov to the mix of young Blackhawks prospects who likely will be vying for a roster spot when training camp opens in September.

The 22-year-old right winger, who played last season in the Kontinental Hockey League in Russia, signed a two-year contract with the Hawks on Tuesday.

Makarov had five goals, four assists and 61 penalty minutes in 51 regular-season games with Moscow Dynamo and St. Petersburg SKA of the KHL. The Moscow, Russia, native has 14 goals and 12 assists in 93 games in the last two seasons in the KHL.

Makarov was the Hawks' second selection (33rd overall) in the 2006 entry draft.

Yawn, snooze, zzz...career minor leaguers, retreads, unproven draft picks, now a european hopeful---oh boy, we found the right mix to replace; well you know the names by now, Buff, Ladd, Steegs,...should I keep going? No names this new bunch, except for Cullimore, hey he was here once.

Now drink the McDonut Kool Aid you North Shore North Suburban big money Hawk fans. Aint a blue collar 300 level person among this crop. Big money sitting during a game with their smart phones tweeting their friends. Disgraceful...in the stands, and soon to be on the ice. They aint got a chance for another second round playoff slot. None. Not this year. Rocky's losing money, but raising everything in sight since we fans have money coming out our ears...25 buck parking, 8 buck beers, 10 dollar sandwhichs. Best to public Transit there, get stiff and stuffed before and after the game...dont give these rips offs another hard earned dime...unless you're a North Shorer in the Club section.

I'm trying to keep track of where the nine cut or traded Blackhawks are going. Somebody please tell me where John Madden is headed.

@ Earl: How many of those teams on which Turco had played had just won the Stanley Cup? And how many of those games were against Red Wings teams that had either won a Cup or had been in the Cup finals the season before?

Also, can you tell me what the Blackhawks record was against the Red Wings from, say, 1999 to 2008?

Finally, what was the final score of the second to last meeting between the Blackhawks and Red Wings in the 1943-44 NHL season?

Hint: All of the answers that you come up with to these questions should lead to the inescapable conclusion that the information contained in your earlier post has absolutely no bearing on what will happen in 2010-2011. So, nice try, Red Wings boy.

Big Buff will be lucky to score 15 goals in Atlanta! And, he takes toooo many nights off!

@Earl quit liveing in the past,oh ya you must be a Detoilet fan and have nothing else to do HAWKS CUP CHAMPS!!!!!!

Piece of trivia for fans of the Stanley Cup Champions: Marty Turco's career record vs the Detroit Red Wings: 6-12-5.

You obviously don't know how the KHL works...

@STK
Since you just became a Hawks fan in April, you wouldn't have known that young players get very little ice time in the KHL.

Five goals and four assists in 51 games! Wow! What a catch! He will make us forget about Buff.
