Matt Gutierrez stay with the Bears was a short one.

The quarterback said he was released Monday morning as the Bears cut their roster down to 75. Those cuts have to be made by Tuesday.

``I'm headed back to Cali,'' Guiterrez said before exiting.

His release leaves the Bears with four quarterbacks: Jay Cutler, Todd Collins, Caleb Hanie and rookie Dan LeFevour. Hanie continues to recover from a shoulder injury, while LeFevour could be destined for the eight-man practice squad the Bears will establish Sunday.

Former Northwestern receiver Zeke Markshausen was spotted leaving Halas Halas, and a source close to the player confirmed that he was waived. The Bears also released defensive lineman Maurice Evans.

I don't care if he lead all of college football in receiving he was TERRIBLE for the Bears in the preseason. They almost couldn't cut him fast enough.

And we Cutler lots of chances to throw INTs--his line is bad, his receivers are average and even good QBs throw 10+ INTs each year.

With no Oline this team is screwed. Thanks again Angelo for all the terrible 2nd and 3rd round picks that will be cut!! Dan Bazien Owkwo Henry Melton, Jaron Gilbert. The sad part is there are so many starting good linemen that could have been picked, but with Angelo he can't pick anyone worth keeping!! Keep up the great work!!

They released Markshausen? Given how sad the Bears look in pre-season they should give the guy a chance. He was the second leading receiver in the Big 10 last year. When does Lovie get his release? How many chances do we give Cutler to throw turnovers?

I wonder if there is any hope for Freddie Barnes? They guy has great hands, but I don't remember him getting any snaps in the three preseason games.

Can the bears Release Angelo Lovie and the rest of these fools running this team!!
