SEATTLE -- White Sox first-round pick Chris Sale allowed a two-run home run to pinch hitter Michael Griffin but struck out two in one inning of relief in Triple-A Charlotte's 8-4 loss Tuesday to Louisville.

Sale, who is being considered for a promotion to the Sox, relieved starter Lucas Harrell with two out in the sixth and immediately allowed a homer to Griffin.

Sale bounced back by striking out Drew Sutton to end the sixth and opening the seventh by striking out Yonder Alonso, Cincinnati's first-round pick in 2008.

Sale has struck out 10, allowed four hits and walked three in 6 2/3 innings. He has a 2.70 ERA in seven appearances.
