A person with knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press that the Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to send power forward Al Jefferson to the Utah Jazz for two future first-round draft picks and the salary-cap trade exception.
Jefferson averaged 17.1 points and 9.3 rebounds last season for the Timberwolves in his first year back from a major knee injury in February 2009. He will help fill a void in Utah when Carlos Boozer went to the Bulls.
Jefferson came to the Timberwolves in 2007 as the main cog in the blockbuster deal that sent Kevin Garnett to Boston. He averaged 23.1 points and 11 rebounds in the 50 games before he was injured in 2009.

Bulls can't part with 2 first-round picks!!! With no draft picks, where will the next Kirk Hinrich, Tyrus Thomas or Luol Deng come from?
Agreed. This would have been a good deal for the Bulls to make. If the Bulls truly believe that they'll be contenders in the next couple of seasons, giving up a couple 1st Round picks wouldn't be that big of a deal considering the picks wouldn't be until the mid- to late-20s. They could also relatively easily get back into the 1st Round because teams often don't want to lock up cap space on rookie projects.
That being said, I do like the Boozer signing...I just hope I still like it in 3-4 years.
I agree. Let's start getting YOUNG talent to build on. I don't know about giving up 2 first rounders but if he was available, we should have made a bigger push to get him.
I have to admit this is a deal the Bulls should have done. Why not part with a couple 1st rd picks to get a big man who is 25 and made a successful comeback from knee surgery. Him and Boozer are very similar players the Bulls should be thinking young with their core considering Rose is 21 while Deng and Noah are 25 and Gibson is 24. Boozer is signed for more money and will be 34 when his deal expires which could be trouble for us later on. I know the Bulls tried in free agency but once again they failed to deliver. We better win a playoff series this year or Pax should get the ax.
