BOURBONNAIS -- Bears safety Chris Harris left the practice field Saturday morning after receiving some medical attention. A league source told the Tribune that Harris had strained his back. He is expected to miss Saturday night's practice in full pads.

Craig Steltz filled in for Harris with the first team and should remain in that role if Harris is sidelined during the night practice. Steltz had an interception Friday.

Harris previously told the Tribune the sprained ankle and banged-up shoulder he dealt with during offseason workouts would not hold him back during training camp.

Cornerback Tim Jennings sat out the morning practice with a right-knee injury suffered on Friday. Jennings said the team medical staff would determine if he needed an MRI. Also, tight end Brandon Manumaleuana, who entered camp off knee surgery, sat out the morning session.

OMG, this is soooo retarted that Thommie Harris is out for the season again. They shouldn't have let Jamar Williams go now we have no back ups. When is he going to play like a grown mans?

Same old, same old with Tommie Harris. And, the Bears kept him at let Alex Brown go? Will The Bears blame Dale Tallon too when Tommie has another lame-o year?

The title didn't say which Harris. But 99.9% probably thought Tommie Harris. Then a collective sigh. Though the injury happened to Chris Harris he, at least, is more resilient.
