The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports: The Cavs reached an agreement in principle with rookie free-agent power forward Samardo Samuels on a multiyear contract, agent David Bauman confirmed.
He was impressive during the Vegas Summer League with the Bulls, averaging 12.6 points and 7.4 rebounds.
His biggest statement came when he scored 17 points with seven rebounds and outplayed Kings draft picks DeMarcus Cousins and Hassan Whiteside in a game last week.

Samardo is going to do much better than u expect him to
who cares that the bulls didnt sign this guy. are you kidding me? please! garpax have done great this summer.this guy will barely play for the cavs, and they are nowhere near as good as we will be. SUMMER LEAGUE IS A JOKE!!!!!
I cant believe you morons are trying to bash paxson for not signing this kid after all the other good moves he's made this summer I bet you were sitting back waiting for something to complain about.Just shut up.
I am pissed about this. This dude is the right height and everything.
Cleveland is going to be better than folks think. They have a real team now that that big ego is gone they will band together and compete. It aint like he won a championship or anything.
Again, Pax only knows how to lose players that could come off of the bench. Hey Pax, that home study course that you are taking is paying off. Just think keep stinking up the joint, you could move right into your neew field, that that's cashier at Jewel's.
This is another indictment on Paxon. It seem like all of us were watching the same thing. This guy will play in the NBA and be productive. Yet the Bull goons are trying to sign Tracy McGrady? Are you kidding me. How does Paxon keep his job? Reinsdorf is way to loyal to a major fault. He should have brought Collins in as the GM and hired a head coach not some assistant on the cheap.
Hmm, I'm surprised also that we couldn't stash Samuels away in the Reserve roster and develop him in the practices and D-League. The guy was once a blue-chip prospect so there had to be something there as long as he rededicated himself to the game. He even outplayed Chris Richard on the team in the Summer League. I'm kind of disappointed on this one, especially if he blooms in Cleveland. We'll see...
I think this guy is going to be good. I was hoping we sign him and let his work in the D league a year. He has a descent post game and goes to the rack hard.
Touche' Cavaliers.
I Liked His Energy We Coulda Used A Guy Like That a la (A Better Offensive) CHRIS RICHARD
Change their name to the Thiev'n Cavaliers.
Saw him play in summer league out here. Wasn't impressed. He did well against the talent he played against, but those shots won't be against the talent he played against. too small and unathletic to make a difference on the bulls in my opinion.
Wow, I was hoping we would be able to stash him away on the roster for a year and develop him. This shows somebody is doing their homework in Cleveland. It still won't make up for losing LeBron!
