MLB.com reports: Carlos Zambrano said he is eager to apologize to his teammates and would have done so sooner if allowed.
"I know I made a mistake," Zambrano told MLB.com on Tuesday. "I'm a person and a human, and I know when I make a mistake. ... I'm going to do it from my heart. I want to be clear and at peace with my teammates."
Zambrano said he agreed to an interview with ESPN because he wanted to clear up misunderstandings and was frustrated that he wasn't allowed to address his teammates before rejoining them this weekend in Colorado.
"I wanted to do this way before this time," Zambrano said.
