What? You mean Bally's wasn't hiring?
To one of my all-time favorite Chicago athletes. Can't wait for Frank Thomas day on the 29th. Congratulations to the Big Hurt and his family!
Now that I made the HOF maybe the Expos will give me a gig like this. I'm tired of wearing the same gangster, hick, p-suit I've been wearing since 1994.
Can I get job like this with Cubs?
I new my crying and pouting would get me back in with the people I never liked. But a paycheck is a paycheck, and boy do I need those these days.
Cub fans please stop commenting on things that are none of your business Yosh, Asad, and Nb you morons stick with the losers we're doing just fine on the southside
I guess Jerry Reinsdorf and company are bringing back their old star players to help with the organization. Its kind of ironic on how team ambassadors are popping up for Bulls and White Sox respectively after Dwayne Wade's comments about loyalty.
How soon we forget. Thomas has made it clear that he didn't appreciate the way his 16-year run with the White Sox ended, saying that Jerry Reinsdorf didn't call him to tell him he wasn't coming back. Thomas was unhappy that his next-to-last deal with the White Sox contained a "diminished skills" clause. He also repeated that had he known that the team wasn't going to bring him back -- they later gave him a $3.5 million buyout -- he wouldn't have participated in a couple ceremonial functions during the postseason.
What a crybaby. And now they are bringing him back as an ambassador? All I can say is Jerry and Kenny Williams are bigger men than Thomas will ever be. Hope he doesn't skip out on any of the appearances this time around.
I guess another name for 'propagandist' or 'excuse maker' is now 'ambassador'.
He now joins the ranks of the Hawkeroo, Stoned Pony, DJ and Farmeoo - oh yeah, and Beltin Bill.
Aside from Frank, those others are pitiful.
Congrats to Frank. Thanks for the years and memories, Big Hurt!
