The Bears announced that running back Harvey Unga has signed a four-year contract, completing one of the final pieces of business before the team reports to training camp at Olivet Nazarene University on July 29.
Unga, BYU's all-time leading rusher, was selected in the seventh round of the supplemental draft last week. It is believed he received a signing bonus worth about $60,250. He is expected to compete for the third running back job, although it will be interesting to see if the Bears explore using him as a fullback.
To make room for Unga, the Bears placed two players on waivers - wide receiver Vic Hall and defensive tackle Jimmy Saddler-McQueen. Hall was an undrafted free agent from Virginia and Saddler-McQueen was also undrafted from Texas A&M-Kingsville.
By releasing two players, the Bears also created room for quarterback Mike Teel, who is expected to sign a contract with the team today, according to a league source.

He IS a pounder and does not go down easy. Strong runner NOT fast but quick lateral movement. That is out of a scouting report. Sounds good to me.
Breaking tackles will give him more yards that wolfe can get and we need someone like that for goal line and short yardage situations.
I'm sure you base this on all the times you've seen him play. Friggin' dolt.
Unga is too slow for the NFL. He's a good runner and break tackles, but won't have enough quickness to get anywhere.
