Staff reportThe Bears will honor the original Monsters of the Midway during the 2010 season by wearing throwback uniforms of the era for selected games.
The uniforms are a nod to the 1940s when the Bears won four NFL titles with Hall of Famers Danny Fortman, Sid Luckman, George McAfee, George Musso, Bronko Nagurski, Joe Stydahar and Clyde "Bulldog" Turner.
The current Bears will not, of course, wear the original leather helmets.

Orange throwbacks on Thanksgiving when we got worked in Dallas are still the best. Someone who doesn't like the orange uni's (new or old) is obviously either a "cat person" or couldn't name more than 5 people on the roster. BEARS / I-L-L
The orange uniforms are terrific. worst case scenario, they're a change from boring white or navy. but this throwback uniform looks like it'll look awesome.
Also, at "kpchitownfan": a true fan supports his team, win or loss, rain or shine. don't rag on them for the past 25 years. the bears have the coaching this year, now that turner's history, but even if they didn't, i'll be backing them 101%.
The 40's retro uniforms are terrific! It will remind us of when the Bears were a winning organization. This is not to be confused with what the organization is now, of course. But that's a discussion for another day. And, the orange ones ARE hideous.

Hahahahaha i totally agree with kpfan. Sure, it's nice to honor the old dynastys, but i would imagine that winning would have more of a important role. WIn a couple of super bowls, and spend all the time you want on the jerseys
Here's a thought, rather than do throwback uniforms or play in the orange jersey, why don't the Bears (and especially management and ownership) try mimicking the Bears of "past" by "WINNNING".
The orange uniform is an alternate, not a throw back, I thought you guys were bears fans. GO BEARS
yeah and while were at it get rid of that pinched C and get either the retro bear logo or a new take on it..
Why does everyone think those orange uniforms are hideous ? I thought they were cool to see them wear them in one game a season.
