Some teams' seasons will come to an end, while others' seasons are just getting started.
That's the life of basketball teams living on one side or other of the NCAA tournament bubble.
At 5 p.m., the 2010 NCAA tournament field will be announced. Given the amount of parity in college basketball this season, there will probably be plenty of teams feeling jilted and others vindicated.
Basketball fans eager to fill out a bracket have plenty of questions as they await the unveiling of the 2010 bracket.
Teams like Illinois, Rhode Island, Mississippi State and Virginia Tech will be among the last teams left in or out. The Bulldogs are battling Kentucky for the SEC crown and have a chance at automatically qualifying.
There's also the question of which team will secure the final No. 1 seed along with obvious top seeds Kansas, Syracuse and Kentucky. Duke seems like an obvious choice, but would anyone feel it was unjust if the honor went to West Virginia, which played a tougher schedule and has an RPI (4) just one lower than Duke?
West Coast fans are curious if the PAC-10 receives more than one bid in addition to automatic qualifier Washington. Cal certainly has a case. Without a lot of western representation, expect plenty of moaning from east-based teams being shipped out to places like San Jose and Spokane for first-round games.
Some teams' seedings will take a knock after late season and conference tournament slides. How far might Purdue fall? What about Villanova?
All these questions will be answered on Sunday evening. Then the real fun begins.

I see either Illinois or Miss St getting the final spot... and after the way Miss St took Kentucky to OT today I think it should go to them.
Illinois has no chance of going to the NCAA and will be left wondering what could have been for this underacheiving team.
