MIAMI -- The results of an MRI on the left wrist of Bulls All-Star guard Derrick Rose revealed a sprain that will keep him from playing Friday against the Miami Heat. His status is listed as day-to-day.

Rose suffered the injury late in the first period of Thursday night's 111-82 loss in Orlando when he was fouled hard by center Dwight Howard. Rose left the game at the end of the first quarter and had his wrist X-rayed Thursday night before undergoing the MRI in Miami, where the Bulls will face the Heat Friday night.

Rose's teammates marvel at the courage the second-year guard has displayed.
"He's a fearless competitor. Chicago guy ... South Side, Englewood ... he just plays with a lot of courage and a lot of heart," Bulls guard Jannero Pargo said. "It doesn't matter who is in the game, he is going to try to get to the bucket. I think that's the player he has become. He goes so hard and he jumps so high. He is so explosive off one foot. It's tough to keep your balance, and I think Dwight just barely hit him and (Rose) fell hard and hurt his wrist."

Although Orlando's Howard was involved in both recent injuries sustained by Rose -- including a Feb. 10 hard foul at the United Center that resulted in a hip bruise -- no one has called him a dirty player.

"(Rose) jumped off one foot and just lost his balance in the air, because he gets up so high. The higher you jump, the harder you fall. So I don't think anything was dirty on either one of them," Pargo said.

"I think it was a clean play; I don't think (Howard) did that on purpose," Bulls guard Flip Murray said. "As big as Dwight Howard is, if you make contact with him and you are that high in the air, nothing good is going to happen."

After Thursday night's game at the Amway Arena, Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said:
"I don't even think Dwight fouled him; I think Rose fouled Dwight. He pushed off."

Place your bets, by how may points will we lose tonight. 50points?!

This is the difference between hockey and basketball. The Bulls' star gets hurt TWICE by the same guy in a little over a month and no one stands up for him. In hockey there would be blood and it would not be tolerated.

Even for basketball this was a lame response. Do you think for a second that Charles Oakley would stand for that if MJ had been knocked down like that? There is no one on the Bulls with the balls or heart to do anything. They are a long way from being a threat to anyone other than themselves.

I guess he didn't learn his lesson the first time ... can't drive the lane when Superman is there.

Da Bulls....no Rose, no coach, no balls, no chance.

Wow, no rose ...it will be a waste of time watching the game, it will be over by halftime.
