GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Manager Ozzie Guillen has vowed to start using more combinations that could resemble lineups during the regular season, and Friday's lineup against the Cubs could serve as the one Guillen employs against Cleveland on April 5.

There are no big surprises, although Andruw Jones could create a pleasant problem against right-handed starters if he continues to produce the way he has this spring.

The Sox are off Thursday, but here is their lineup Friday against the Cubs at Camelback Ranch:
1. Juan Pierre lf

2. Gordon Beckham 2b

3. Carlos Quentin rf

4. Paul Konerko 1b

5. A.J. Pierzynski c

6. Alex Rios cf

7. Mark Kotsay dh

8. Mark Teahen 3b

9. Alexei Ramirez ss

There are no major surprises. Guillen indicated at the winter meetings in December that he was inclined to bat Teahen lower in the order because of his high strikeout totals. There are three consecutive right-handed hitters near the top of the order (Beckham, Quentin and Konerko), but Guillen has elevated Pierzynski higher in the order in the past two seasons because of his ability to make contact.
