GLENDALE, Ariz. -- WhIte Sox outfielder Jared Mitchell officially was ruled out for the 2010 season after undergoing surgery Tuesday to repair a torn tendon in his right ankle.
Mitchell, the Sox's top pick in 2009, will have his leg immobilized from four to six weeks. He will have a follow-up examination Friday.
The length of rehabilitation is expected to take about six months.
