Tiger Woods intends to remain out of golf at least until the Masters, two people with knowledge of his plans have told The Associated Press.
Woods has been practicing at Isleworth near his Orlando home the last two weeks, and swing coach Hank Haney flew there during the weekend to work with him. That led to speculation Thursday he was close to playing again.
The two people, who spoke on condition of anonymity because only Woods is supposed to release such information, say he is likely to play first at Augusta National in April.

Earlier Thursday, the New York Post had reported that Woods was targeting the Arnold Palmer Invitational, beginning March 25 at Bay Hill in Orlando, for his return.
Two sources told the Post that Woods has retained Ari Fleischer, the former presidential advisor to George W. Bush who has been assisting in Mark McGwire's comeback, to help plot his return. Fleischer said in an e-mail to the AP he could neither confirm nor deny that Woods was a client.
Palmer reportedly had told confidants that Woods is definitely playing Bay Hill. Mark O'Meara told the Golf Channel he "wouldn't be surprised" if Woods first played in the Tavistock Cup, a small event at Woods' home course of Isleworth on March 22-23.

Seriously, who cares. His damage is done. I will not watch him when he returns.
