By Brad BiggsThe Bears were on the scene Monday at the Utah pro day, with a source saying that West Coast scout Marty Barrett was in attendance.
The Bears blanket the country for the pro days, but try to only go to the ones where they need to get some research done or see a player who perhaps fell through the cracks in regards to the national scouting combine.
The Utes have a fast riser in the draft in defensive end Koa Misi, who performed well in Indianapolis. The 6-2, 244-pounder was tops in vertical jump (38 inches) and fifth in the 20-yard shuttle (4.27 seconds) at the combine. Based on his size and athleticism, he has generated good buzz as a possible outside linebacker.
A mid-round projection from Utah is guard Zane Beadles. He played left tackle for the Utes, but projects inside by most in the NFL. He has good size at 6-4, 306 and moves well on his feet.

Hey I like the sounds of that Misi guy hey built like a younger Urlacher 6'2 244 with speed knock you silly type guy special teamer for sure out side linebacker maybe but keep you eye on him.
I would not be opposed to Beadles to come in as a future starter on the O-line. It may take him a year or two to get comfortable at guard, but he could be the future replacement for Garza after 2010 or 2011. We still need a LG more immediately, and he might be ok there from day 1, but we thought the same thing about Omiyale this past season. We will know a lot more when we find out who Tice talked to and which workouts he is going to. He kind of sticks out by being as massive as he is.
So if we look in the 3rd round, and at who might be available at G, Beadles will be right in there with Petrus, Asamoah, Johnson, and a few others in that second group. Ducasse and Iupati will go earlier, Ducasse likely as a tackle prospect rather than a G, but after that, there should be a little lull for guards and centers while the WRs, RBs, DEs, and LBs start coming off the board. We should have a pretty good shot at a solid G or C when we pick in the 3rd. If we manage to get a second, we can get the safety there, or maybe a RT, and then hit the guard and center in 3 and 4.
Misi is being touted as a second rounder on a couple of sites, because of his potential to play OLB in a 3-4. I don't see him as a player we are interested in from any more than a smokescreen level.
