The Seattle Times reports: Mariners manager Don Wakamatsu went off on Class AAA umpire Jon Merry for ejecting Milton Bradley in the fourth inning -- the second straight spring contest from which he's been tossed.
"To me, it's almost like a witch hunt,'' he said. "I mean, it's almost embarassing to me when egos get involved to the point where they don't even give a guy a chance.''
Merry ejected Bradley for arguing a fourth-inning strikeout call on a full-count pitch that seemed high. Wakamatsu admitted that Bradley did say something to Merry as he walked back to the dugout, but added that the umpire's trigger was too quick.
"Again, I think it's pretty blatant that some guys have it out for him.''
It was a similar incident to what happened in Bradley's last start, Wednesday night in Peoria, when the outfielder was ejected by home plate umpire Dan Bellino for dropping his bat and taking off his gloves after being called out on strikes in a game against Texas.

Its probably the Chicago Cubs fault!
I for one do miss the fire and passion that Milton brings. Maybe we could bring him back with a behavior clause in his contract. The first time he gets kicked out the team can suspend him for three games. The second time he gets kicked out he gets suspended for ten games. The third time he gets kicked out he gets suspended for 25 games and so on. If he loses track of the outs, he gets suspended for the rest of that game. If he doesn't say hello upon his arrival in the clubhouse, he will have to run out to dum dum donuts and treat for everyone. I should have mentioned these things to Mr. Rickets at the Cubsfest.
P.S.- Is the Tribune ever going to make it bigger down there?
Carlos Silva has an ERA of 6.00 and has struck out five and walked one according to the spring stats I found. Guess that's better than Milton Bradley about the metasticize the entire Mariners clubhouse. Perhaps Sir Milton can end up as a tree hugger or other cultural quirk Seattle is noted for. He certainly couldn't even hold the jock strap of any of his teammates in Chicago last season.
This guy is such a victim. If umpires have it out for him it's because of his own childish actions. If you show class, play hard and take your lumps like a big boy you will be treated with respect whether you're black, white or hispanic. If you constantly throw temper tantrums and accuse people of racism you will be treated like Milton Bradley.
Why is Seattle's Manager, Don Wakamatsu puzzled by Little Milton's bad behavior so far this spring? It's not like Little Milton has been a model baseball player through out his career in the majors....My guess is that this is basically a non story in a slow sports day...The Tribune's space could be put to use providing us with real Cubbies coverage not this same old crap we have heard since Little Milton hit the majors many years ago......
It's his parents fault they named him milton bradley after a board game be for real ppls
It's only spring training and little milton is throwing temper tantrums. This guy is a loser, where's Lou?
What's the gripe? You can't argue balls and strikes. That's a cut and dry rule, and if there's anyone who knows that rule it's Bradley. Bradley appears to be going down the same exact path that he went down here in Chicago last year, and all the other stops of where he's played in.
But then again, it could be a ploy by the entire world to attack Bradley !!!
Not sure how this is Chicago breaking news. To stir up readership i guess. But how long til he blames fans, umpires, his team. Who's fault is it he took a called 3rd strike- and it was a strike too.

Can all Chicago NEWSPAPERS WRITERS stop with this Bradley news. NO ONE in Chicago cares about Milton Bradley. STOP!!!
Why is this Chicago Sports Breaking News. Get over this guy CHICAGO! Write something about people we care about.
wooooooow really woooooow
in 3 weeks his son will be called N-word! in the kindergarten;)
I doubt it will happen a 3rd time, since this clown can't count to 3.
I wonder when Wakamatsu will stop defending Bradley and start calling Bradley a "Piece of Expletive?" Maybe a pool should be started on this.
LOL
Hey Milton it's 2009 all over again. You get paid another $10 million while getting kicked out of ball games. Being misunderstood on the West Coast is just like being misunderstood in the Midwest.
Dear Mariners Fans Who Raved About Acquiring Bradley,
Told you so!
yours truly,
Every Cubs fan
Poor, poor Milton. Always blaming others. How long til he plays the race card in Arizona, the mecca of racism that it is?
I never saw that coming.
It must be those racist Mariner fans in Arizona at fault.
