Carmody is confident (outwardly, anyway) that NU's victory over Indiana, which got the Wildcats a 20th victory, will be enough to merit an NIT bid. But no one will know for several hours.
The Wildcats' RPI of 115 does not bode well, considering Vanderbilt got left out last year with an RPI of 95. And three seasons ago Iowa did not get the call with an RPI of 96.

that he views the Sagarin ratings as equally important, and
Northwestern ranks 74th.

Glad I was wrong. Rhode Island is a difficult first round opponent and the winner of Wichita State/Nevada is not going to be easy either, but it's good to see the Wildcats get a shot to play in the NIT.
