By Chris Hine

Illinois has offered a scholarship to Mychael Henry, a 6-foot-6 junior from Orr.

Henry attended last week's Illinois game against Minnesota, and is expected to be in attendance on Sunday when the Illini take on Wisconsin, 1 p.m. at Assembly Hall.

In the class of 2011, Illinois has already received verbal commitments from Mount Carmel's Tracy Abrams and St. Ignatius College Prep's Nnanna Egwu.

Locking up Illinois players? Do you have ESPN? Collins at Kansas, Sheyer at Duke....the best players have been and are leaving the state. Weber doesn't get it. He hasn't developed Simpson or anyone else.....but keeps saying the kids don't get it. NIT here we come,....get used to it as long as Weber is in charge... Weber must go!

Weber stated earlier that Simpson wasn't buying into the work ethic in practice.

Start talent! It's time to put Brandon in for 30 minutes!

I like how the Illini are recruiting/locking up Illinois players. I'm surprised they are not recruiting Boatwright from Aurora, or are his grades bad? That Abdel Nader from Niles North is intriguing too. He can score. I wonder if they will offer him. I was also really impressed with a 6'6" athletic dynamo from Whitney Young. I think his name is Michael too.
The Illini have a extra scholarship next year. They may just want to hold onto that for the junior high school class if you can't get anybody good in the senior class.
But yeah, when you recruit, you don't want Stan Simpson's. I thought he would be a great player for Illinois, but Weber must have a reason not to play him. It's hard to tell because you never see him in the game.

Or Kendall Gill.

Maybe he'll be the next Stan Simpson
