Illinois' McCamey named 1st-team All Big Ten

Illinois' Demetri McCamey was named first team All Big Ten Monday by conference coaches and media members, while Northwestern's John Shurna was named to the second team.

Ohio State's Evan Turner was named the player of the year. Illinois guard D.J. Richardson was named freshman of the year by the coaches; the media selected Northwestern's Drew Crawford, who was also a conference honorable mention by the media.

Purdue's Matt Painter was the coach's selection for coach of the year; Ohio State's Thad Matta was the media pick.

Northwestern's Jeremy Nash was also named to the Big Ten's all defensive team. Michael "Juice" Thompson and Illinois' Mike Tisdale each earned honorable mention from the coaches and the media, while Illinois' Mike Davis earned that honor from the media. Here is the full list of honorees:

First team:Evan Turner, Ohio State (Player of the year); Demetri McCamey, Illinois; Kalin Lucas, Michigan State; Robbie Hummel, Purdue; E'Twuan Moore, Purdue

Second Team: Talor Battle, Penn State; DeShawn Sims, Michigan; John Shurna, Northwestern JaJuan; Johnson, Purdue Trevon; Hughes, Wisconsin

Third team: Manny Harris, Michigan; Draymond Green, Michigan State; William Buford, Ohio State; Jason Bohanon, Wisconsin; Raymar Morgan, Michigan State (coaches selection); David Lighty, Ohio State (media selection)

Sixth man of the year: Draymond Green, Michigan State

All Defensive Team: Chris Kramer, Purdue (Defensive player of the year); Trevon Hughes, Wisconsin; Jeremy Nash, Northwestern; Dallas Lauderdale, Ohio State; JaJuan Johnson, Purdue.
