Huet in goal vs. Wings; Burish won't play

In what is becoming a familiar refrain, Cristobal Huet will start in goal for the Blackhawks again.

The veteran netminder will get the call when the Hawks take on the Red Wings on Sunday afternoon at the United Center. It will be Huet's third consecutive start as the Hawks look to win their third in a row and sixth of their last seven. Before Huet's run, Antti Niemi had started the five previous games as Hawks coach Joel Quenneville searches for a No. 1 goaltender.

Forward Adam Burish had targeted the game as his 2009-10 debut following knee surgery in the preseason but won't be in the lineup.

"We'll likely have the same lineup as (Friday night) going into (Sunday's) game," Quenneville said following Saturday's practice. "(Burish) is looking good. He's skating great, You like the way he's worked and how diligent he's been in this process and he's put himself in what looks like game shape. I think we're targeting Wednesday (against the Kings)."

Defenseman Brent Sopel, who has missed three of the Hawks' last four games with an undisclosed injury--including Friday night's 6-3 win over the Canucks--practiced Saturday.

"He's getting better," Quenneville said. "He's really improved the last couple of days. This time to heal him up is healthy for him and for us as well."

i'm disappointed to see i was straight-on correct. huet = grossman on skates.

Bad move. Huet ALWAYS plays poorly on the back end of two high-importance games. ALWAYS.

Sopel seems like a nice guy and he's a hard worker. But I sure like Hendry. It might be time to let him play.

A quick check of the facts would have revealed that Niemi started Tuesday at the Islanders so Sunday would only be Huet's third straight start.
