He is better for for Martz's offense than Forte, he is better on screens, misdirection, counters and in the open field than Forte. He will eventually be the starter, Lovie may try to fight Martz on this, byt Taylor is the better fit.
CT has 1800 fewer carries than any other 30+ yr old RB thats out there.1800!!! lets calculate that if he got 400 carries a year (thats a LOT) he has 4-1/2 years less abuse on his body. Major tread left on those tires. Keep hating and doubting him, you will see. Instead of hating on the home team, why not go hate on the packers or vikings?
GO BEARS!!!
I remember the year the Bears signed Merrill Hoge. In his first game with the Bears who were playing the Kansas City Chiefs. In his first carry as a fullback he had his bell rung and he went into the Chiefs defensive huddle. The players were waving over to the Bears sideline to come and get him. He retired shortly after. I think he is still feeling the after effects.
The Steelers just brought back Antwaan Randle El, can't we get Mike Brown back? We need a Free Safety, and since he was able to stay healthy last year and still get 100 tackles, We need him back!!
I have had the honor to speak with Merril Hoge in person, and he is a true gentlemen, and he was one heck of a football player that played for our local college team. What most people don't know is Merril's brpther was an excellent football player in his time.Hoge's class family, class act!
Their old mailman
As the last guy pointed out. He has had 1 season where he's been the lead back,1, and he has 1200 yards. This means he has less wear and tear. I expect him to have a pretty good year, that is if we get an O line. And best of all we have Forte to help split some carries. ALLLLLL good teams have two backs, and use both. So he will have help just like all other good backs.
I do agree witht the ESPN thing. Sportscenter is more like "days of our lives" anymore these days than actually reporting good solid sports news. Its sad, its all about drama these days.
hes def an every down back!!! u guys are morons. hes had 1 year as a full time starter! and he rushed for 1200 yrds that season. hes an amazing blocker with sweet hands. you watch. starting running back for the chicago bears--Chester Taylor
ESPN is full of liars and a bunch d-bag's who will say whatever they need to in order to be generate buzz. ESPN is the new TMZ. Mark Schlerth is d-bag #1. The queen d-bag, if you looked up d-bag in Websters Dictionary his face would be right next to it
ESPN is a joke... they're a business, which means they do what it takes to earn ad revenue, which means they'll make sensational claims for the simple fact that more people watch. There's no reason whatsoever to watch their analyst give opinions and believe they know what they're talking about.
You know I really like Merrill Hoge. I remember when he was a FB for the Steelers than the Bears via veteran free agency.
I also like his smart NFL analysis of the players, coaches and games. He is professional, has good English speaking skills and just a very well rounded person.
But...
But...
Now saying that Chester Taylor is an every down back? No, are you kidding me!!! No way.
Hey every smart NFL analyst deserve a margin of error. I think Hoge just used the margin of error up claiming that Chester Taylor is an every down back. He couldn't be any more DEAD WRONG.
