Magic center Dwight Howard sent a text message to Derrick Rose soon after sending the Bulls guard tumbling precariously to the floor last week in Orlando.

And now Howard also has apologized via his personal blog for injuring Rose for the second time in two months.

"It really upsets me when people say that I tried to hurt him. Like I told fans on Twitter, why would I try to hurt one of my friends? That just doesn't make any sense!" Howard wrote.

Rose has suffered a bruised hip and sprained left wrist after two encounters of the worst kind with Howard.

"I hope he gets better and that there's nothing seriously wrong with him. The last thing I would want to do is hurt anyone, especially one of my good friends," said Howard

Basketball is now an uninteresting contact sport. Start a pool to see how many games in a row Howard injures DRose.

That is not an apology.

Saying you didn't mean to hurt someone doesn't mean that you are apologizing.

What a joke. Superman is a super jerk. The only thing that is a bigger joke is the fact that the Bulls did not retaliate in some way. Howard needs to go down and if I were on the team, he would.

Yea Right! I did not want to hurt him. I just swung my arm and hit him in th chest and followed thorugh to knowck him to the floor...BOTH TIMES. The truth is he was frustrated because he was beat!

It appears to me that Howards apology is empty. THe NBA has to get a hold on the violent hits. If Howard was not a superstar it woudl have been a flagrant foul. But he was so no flagrant.

Entitlement has no place in sports. Fine howard, suspend him and send him for anger management.

At least he would be sorry about that.
