NEW YORK -- Last year, a DePaul team that went winless in conference play pulled off a first-round shocker in the Big East tournament. Will history repeat itself Tuesday against South Florida?
The Demons, losers of 12 straight, open the conference tournament against No. 9 seed South Florida with only this week left to make any kind of impact on the 2009-10 season. And it could be the last run, too, for interim coach Tracy Webster, who may not have won enough to successfully audition for the permanent gig.
One thing is for certain: If the Demons win, it won't make much of a sound, as Madison Square Garden is all but empty for the opening game of the event.
