Cubs reach Tucson after highway bus breakdown

TUCSON, Ariz. -- A two-hour trip from Mesa turned into another "Cubby Occurrence" Monday morning.

The Cubs' team bus broke down on I-10, about 75 miles out of Tucson. A new bus was summoned, and arrived just as the broken down one was fixed.

Some of the players, like Carlos Zambrano and Jeff Baker, drove on their own because they're only playing a few innings and plan to leave early. The rest of the players were stranded for about 45 minutes, forced to live a caveman's existence with only their iPods, iPhones and Blackberrys for amusement.

But the bus just arrived at Hi Corbett Field, an hour and a half before the first pitch. There will be baseball.
