MESA, Ariz. -- Cubs reliever Angel Guzman has elected to have surgery on his ailing right shoulder and make one more try at a comeback next year.
"The doctors give me hope," Guzman said Thursday, although he admitted it also could be possible his career will be over.
Guzman will have the surgery performed by Dr. James Andrews and rehab for most of the summer. He already has missed one season after undergoing "Tommy John" elbow surgery.
