Collins John, a 24-year old forward and English Premier League veteran, is expected to join the Fire for the 2010 season, a source familiar with the contract negotiations said Thursday.
The 24-year old forward and English Premier League veteran reportedly agreed to terms Wednesday and the contract was forwarded to Major League Soccer for review and approval. Terms were not disclosed.
John, a Liberian native who also played professionally in the Netherlands, has been training with the Fire since late January.

John has three goals in the preseason, including a first-half tally
that proved to be a game-winner in Monday's 3-0 exhibition victory over
Dallas in Ridgeland, Miss.
John, who emigrated with his family to the Netherlands as a youth, started his pro career at age 17 with FC Twente. He joined Fullham of the English Premier League the next year, playing from 2004-08. He was also loaned to two other English Championship clubs in 2007-08 played last year for Belgium's Roeselare club.
