The 22-room, 16,000-square-foot Oak Brook mansion that former Blackhawks and Wolves defenseman Chris Chelios sold in 2005 is on the market for $6.9 million.

Built in 1999, the six-bedroom English Tudor-style mansion has six full baths, two half baths, a pool, a spa, a waterfall, fountains and a tennis court, all on a 1.52-acre lot.

Since Chelios, 48, sold the mansion in Oak Brook's Hunter Trails area for $4.5 million, the current owners extensively renovated the property. They replaced a hockey rink with a putting green, upgraded outdoor decks and added a sprinkler system, a lighting/audio system, a fire pit, mature trees and fountains, said listing agent Jaime Adams of Adams & Myers.

"There isn't a person who goes into this house who isn't awestruck," Adams said.

Chelios, currently a defenseman for the Atlanta Thrashers, and his wife paid $850,000 in 1996 for the land, and first listed the mansion in 2002 for $7.5 million. Among other properties, they own a 3,795-square-foot house in Malibu, Calif., that they purchased in 2003 for $6 million.
