NEW YORK -- At this point, Syracuse followers needn't worry that their team's season crumbled as center Arinze Onuaku did with a knee injury late in a Big East tournament quarterfinal loss Thursday. But no one should be breathing easy just yet, either.
The bruising center writhed in agony and limped off the court with about five minutes left in a 91-84 loss to Georgetown at Madison Square Garden. Onuaku's mother told the New York Times and SI.com that X-rays were negative, but Orange coach Jim Boeheim said it merits further inspection.
"He has a strain, we don't know for sure if it's any more than that," Boeheim said, saying Onuaku will have an MRI as early as Friday.

It would be a sizable blow, on many levels, for a likely No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.
"He's a big part of our team," Boeheim said. "He's had a great year and he's a tremendous player. We hope that he'll be fine, but we don't know now."
