Sox's Jenks feeling good after bullpen work

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Instead of throwing an inning in the White Sox's Monday night game, closer Bobby Jenks threw two "innings" in an afternoon bullpen session, saying afterward, "I'm excited where I'm at physically."

Jenks has been bothered by a sore right calf that limited him at the end of last season, but to what degree has been the issue. He has a 37.80 ERA this spring.

"It's not bothering me (now)," he said. "It was getting tired because it was (strained) last year. What we're doing now is taking all precautions to make sure it doesn't become an issue.. . .We want to make sure everything is fine before we go out (in a game)."

Jenks is expected to throw on a back field again Wednesday and then pitch again in a spring game Friday or Saturday.
