Blackhawks lead Capitals 2-0 after one period

At the end of a fairly eventful first period, the Blackhawks lead the Capitals 2-0 on Sunday at the United Center.

Capitals star Alex Ovechkin was tossed midway through the period for boarding Brian Campbell along the end boards and Jonathan Toews scored twice for the Hawks in front of a crowd of 22,289. There has been a lot of pushing and shoving in a physical affair between two of the NHL's top teams.
