By Mark GonzalesGLENDALE, Ariz. -- Gordon Beckham is making the transition from third to second base, and White Sox's young standout apparently is expanding his talent.
Beckham is the latest major league player to agree to participate in Jake Peavy's Woodjock 2010, a charity event scheduled for March 11 at The Venue in Scottsdale. Beckham will join Sox teammates Scott Linebrink, Omar Vizquel and Peavy, as well as current and former major league players Barry Zito, Bernie Williams, Bronson Arroyo, Aubrey Huff, Brandon Medders and Ben Broussard.
The players will perform a mix of tunes ranging from country, rock, jazz, blues, bluegrass, classical and Latin.

Sorry, Chris. I didn't mean to burst your bubble. I'm sure you'll still get to see Gordy every year during spring training.
You make no sense. What kind of numbers are you expecting from a second basemen? If he hits .280 with 20-20 HRS and 80 or so RBIs I think thats all you can ask for. He hit 14 homers and like 65 RBIs last year and he didn't even break camp with the Sox. He had less than 400 at bats. With a full seasons worth of at bats this year, those numbers will obviously go up. How does anyone think that Beckham isn't a good player with the chance to be pretty special? Beckham will never sniff the minors again for the rest of his career, guaranteed.
Chris
"Beckham will be good for 20-25 HRS and 80 RBIs every year and that's pretty damn good for a second basemen. Not to mention the guy seems to be a doubles machine. But yeah, you are probably right. He'll be in Charlotte."
Glad you agree. You're right, those will be pretty good numbers for AAA.

"Good to see him preparing for his future. Hope he has better luck with music than he will with baseball. I'm sure there are a lot of bars in Charlotte where he can pick up gigs."
You must be a complete jackass. There is nothing even remotely correct about the statement you just made. So you think Beckham will be in Charlotte huh? Tell me, how long exactly have you been a Cubs fan? That is the only thing I could come up with when I read that idiotic statement of yours. Beckham will be good for 20-25 HRS and 80 RBIs every year and that's pretty damn good for a second basemen. Not to mention the guy seems to be a doubles machine. But yeah, you are probably right. He'll be in Charlotte. You really are a bottom of the barrel retard aren't you?
