Former Bears offensive coordinator Ron Turner could resurface soon, perhaps as the offensive coordinator for Stanford.
A source said Turner has been in discussions with Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh for the position. Turner was Harbaugh's offensive coordinator for one year in 1993 before the Bears let Harbaugh go.
Turner previously was the offensive coordinator at Stanford from 1989-91 under coach Denny Green. He has California roots and family living in the area.
Turner also is in play for other jobs, including the quarterbacks coach of the Giants. The Giants have asked him to interview for the position.

I defer to Jim Harbaugh's judgement. Don't expect to see Harbaugh ever hiring Dave Wanstache to do anything. That guy is a tool and the main reason Harbaugh got chased out of Chicago: The Colts were thrilled...
Jim - While Cutler is partly to blame, you need to look at the big picture. Look at Ron Turner's career with the Bears and when he was the HC at Illinois. He's never been successful. You can't blame that level of failure on players. As a coach, you are responsible for developing the talent and coming up with a system that fits the talent you are working with. Ron Turner has never done that. He had one "good" (and I use that term loosely here) year with Kramer and that's it. How many QB's has he gone through over the years yet his offenses have consistently been at or near the bottom of the league. Seriously, quit making excuses for Ron Turner. It's bad enough that we have to hear his excuses (although, not anymore!).
Exactly how many of those interceptions did Ron Turner throw. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't he the co-ordinator when Eric Kramer had a Bear record setting season?
Big, big, BIG mistake.
Jim Harbourgh was an NFL QB himself. Why does he want to hire an inept coach such as Ron Turner?
I wish my life was this easy: make a butt load of cash fail for everyone to see and get another high paying job.
Holy cow, why do people keep hiring this guy. Must have a sparkling personality.
