Tribune writers pick 'em: Colts or Saints?

VOTE: Who do you think wins the Super Bowl tonight?

Brad Biggs: Colts 34, Saints 21

Defensively, the Saints are dependent on takeaways and Brett Favre and the Vikings were accomodating in the NFC title game. The Colts and Peyton Manning will not treat them the same way. Even if Gregg Williams dials up some pressures that fluster Manning early, he won't crack and the Colts will pull away.

David Haugh: Colts 38, Saints 31

Saints run the ball well with Pierre Thomas early but Peyton Manning overcomes "remember-me" hits to give NO defense a lesson it'll never forget. As Bears know, you don't beat Manning in Miami. Hoosiers beat Who Dats.

Vaughn McClure: Colts 35, Saints 21

New Orleans and Drew Brees walking away with the trophy would be the feel-good story of the season, but we're talking about Peyton Manning here. Enough with the "Who Dat" already. Manning will carve up the Saints and make people forget Dwight Freeney's ankle was even an issue.

Fred Mitchell: Saints 34, Colts 30

My rational mind says Colts, but the intangible element of the Saints responding to being the emotional underdog intrigues me. Peyton Manning and Drew Brees assure this being an entertaining game, weather permitting.

Dan Pompei: Colts 30, Saints 27

It looks like a shootout, with the last team having possession winning. If it comes down to defenses, the Colts defense should stack up better against the Saints offense than the Saints defense stacks up against the Colts offense.

Wow... Only one person chose the Saints to win and even they weren't sure the Saints were going to win.
