ESPN.com reports: Suns owner Robert Sarver has told All-Star center Amare Stoudemire that he is unlikely to be dealt before Thursday's 2 p.m. (Chicago time) trading deadline.
In an e-mail Thursday morning, Sarver confirmed media reports that he met privately with Stoudemire on Wednesday night and told him the Suns are no longer looking to trade him.
"I think I'm pretty much safe," Stoudemire told AOL FanHouse after his talk with Sarver. "I feel good about it. But I would have felt good either way."
