Former Notre Dame coach Digger Phelps will be part of the ESPN College Gameday crew in Champaign on Saturday for Illinois' showdown against Michigan State.
In a phone interview this week, Phelps predicted that the Illini will be dancing come March.
"They're going to get an NCAA bid," Phelps said. "Obviously, the Big Ten is going to end up with at least six teams, and Illinois is one of those six."

Ten conference victories will get a Big Ten team into the tournament, Phelps said, and he expects the Illini to finish 12-6 in the league.
"The most important thing for (coach) Bruce (Weber) is, keep playing, win the games you've got to win, don't lose the dumb games and steal a win -- beat Michigan State this weekend, that's a quality win at home," Phelps said.
