Northwestern slamming Indiana, up 11 at the half

Here's how you know this isn't the same old Northwestern basketball team: The Wildcats started the game with a thunderous dunk and ended the first half with a big-time slam.

Drew Crawford threw down the first one; Mike Capocci took the honors with about five seconds to play before the break. Capocci's deuce gave the Wildcats a 40-29 halftime lead.

Given those high-percentage shots, it's no surprise that Northwestern shot 59.1 percent for the half, including 6 of 9 from 3-point land. Luka Mirkovic leads a balanced attack with nine points. Michael "Juice" Thompson has eight; Jeremy Nash has seven and a team-high five rebounds.

Indiana's only legitimate scoring threat, Verdell Jones III, has 14.
