Illinois received all of the letters of intent from recruits the program had expected on Wednesday morning, while missing out on one big recruit and landing another it had hoped to sign.
The Illini's biggest whiff of the morning was Proviso East's Corey Cooper, who opted for Nebraska over Illinois and Notre Dame.
A consolation for the Illini was signing three-star receiver Darius Millines out of Delray Beach, Fla. Millines, who is ranked by Rivals.com as No. 62 nationally for his position, was considering Marshall and West Virginia.
The Illini's class rounded out at 20, which coach Ron Zook said will defy many of the low expectations.
"This class is going to surprise a lot of people," he said.
Illinois has 19 signees for the incoming class. Recruiting services state that this is one of Illinois' weaker classes in recent years, ranked by Rivals at No. 69 nationally and No. 8 in the Big Ten.
The signees Wednesday include: receivers Millines, Spencer Harris, Ryan Lankford and A.J. Williams, tight end Evan Wilson, offensive linemen Shawn Afryl, Simon Cvijanovic, Dan Foose, Michael Heitz and Alex Hill, linebackers Jonathan Brown and Mark Wilson, defensive backs Ean Days and Trulon Henry, running backs Jake Howe and Jay Prosch, defensive end Austin Teitsma and quarterbacks Miles Osei and Chandler Whitmer.
