MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- Rain fell virtually all day three years ago before the Colts beat the Bears on the same Sun Life Stadium field that is the stage for Super Bowl XLIV.

After the game, it was revealed that Peyton Manning prepared for the sloppy conditions by practicing with balls dipped in buckets of water before throwing or handing off. It paid off as Manning picked apart the Bears secondary and handled the elements much better than counterpart Rex Grossman.

Hope Manning didn't waste any time working with wet footballs this time.

There is not a single cloud in the sky as kickoff approaches and not the slightest hint of precipitation. The temperature is 60 degrees with a slight wind out of the north at 6 miles per hour providing a slight chill. Overall, when somebody uses the term ideal conditions, this is what they had in mind.
