GLENDALE, Ariz. - There will be no filter on manager Ozzie Guillen when the cameras are rolling during MLB Network's taping of "The Club" featuring the White Sox's front office.

"Oh no,'' Guillen said Sunday. "That's me. I'm going to be myself. You might see a lot of beep. One thing about it. I'm not going to change. I'm going to talk as if no one is around me.''

Guillen's spirits weren't dimmed by the fact that free agent left-handed hitter Johnny Damon signed with Detroit instead of the Sox.
''I'm very satisfied with what this club can do,'' Guillen said. "Some people have a different opinion than we have. I respect that opinion, but right now when I see the players around and the club we have. ... . (Saturday night) I was on the plane playing with the lineups and getting some ideas how the lineup will look. And I was satisfied about it.''

As for Damon, ''there's no doubt he's a heck of a ballplayer and will help any team he plays for," Guillen said. "I think the bad thing about it is when they say A.J. (Pierzynski) was talking to him, I knew we weren't going to get him because he's got to hang around A.J. for five months. That's not a funny thing. I hope he plays good for (Detroit).''

Guillen and several members of the Sox's staff were encouraged after Andruw Jones weighed in at 221 pounds - about 25 pounds lighter than last year. Jones is determined to regain playing time in center field as well as share the designated hitter duties with Mark Kotsay.

Ozzie is the worst manager in all of baseball. The other owners and managers around MLB enjoy having a laugh at Oz's expense. It's not "ozzie being Ozzie" He's an imbecile plain and simple.

One fluke in 2005 does not give you a free pass for life. The Sox won in spite of Ozzie, not because of his man-a-jing skills.

I'm the biggest sox fan there is, but other than the 2005 fluke, the "ozzie years" have been the most embarassing since 1919.

Look for the sox to finish 4th this year if they are lucky.

time for Ozzie to go.

It wasn't even a sox fan that started all the gay talk.

Kids, if you're obsessing about homosexuality, there's nothing wrong with that, of course. But what does that have to do with this baseball article? Right. Nothing.

Grow up. Until then, go away.

Wrigley Field is not in Boystown (Boystown's unofficial western boundary is Halsted St.).

Why is it that you guys are so consumed by all things gay? Every other post is gay this, gay that. I thought this thread was about baseball. You sound like a bunch of 14 year olds.

I'm gay. There is a large Cubs fan contingent that is gay, clearly. I also have gay friends who are Sox fans, as tough as that is for you to hear.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

The Cubs play in Boys Town!

Chico - The answer to your post is a team who is comfortable with its own sexuality.

A question for you. Which team plays in Boys Town?

A.J. played high school ball with Damon. They are long time friends. Hawk Harrelson, A.J. and Damon just played golf together at a charity event for the HS they went to. Hawk's kid, Casey went to the same school in Florida. Ozzie was obviously joking!

mioilman-
are you serious? did you not understand that ozzie was joking with the AJ comment?

Guillen's dissing of AJ is so bush league.

Pierzynski's will to win has been the only consistent facet of the Sox organization since 2005.

Guillen would be long gone without AJ's glowering presence intimidating the lolly gaggers that are enabled by our overated manager.

I personally dread the thought of Ozzie being followed and distracted by television cameras.

The one upside of the circus atmosphere surrounding the reality show may lie in the fact that Guillen may finally be given enough rope to hang himself and be shown the door.

Ozzieball is a myth. GO Sox.

I suspect we'll hear a lot of bleeps, especially some rookie makes a bonehead play.

Great! I imagine that it'll be like watching episodes of Oz.
