MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- New Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz continued to be a hot topic Tuesday at the site of Super Bowl XLIV.
Former Rams running back Marshall Faulk, an NFL Network analyst who played for Martz in St. Louis, praised his old coach, but doubted whether the Bears had the personnel to make the marriage work.
"It's a great opportunity for Mike to showcase what he's made of ... this is by far the best quarterback he's taken over," Faulk said of Jay Cutler. "(But) it will be very interesting to see offensive line-wise if they can provide stability for Cutler and Matt Forte. ... We can talk a lot about (how) Ron Turner did a bad job, but the offensive line, guys, they weren't that good."

Anybody hear about the length and $$$ of Martz's contract?
Maury Buford! LOL. Awesome.
FIRE LOVIE, ANGELO, and PHILLIPS. What an awful hire! Warriors like Olin Kreutz are getting blamed for crybaby Cutler's bad play!!! Bring back Rivera and have Maury Buford run the offense!
Ok, just getting those cilches out there before anyone else does. Personally, I agree w Faulk - great hire, Cutler's awesome, line is suspect. Hopefully a year together plus Tice will bring improvement. Couldn't be worse. I'd still like to see competition for Center...
Now the real solution to all their problems - Bring back the Honeybears!!!
The Bears better spend their first round draft pick this year on the best OL they can get. Oh wait a minute, well they better spend their second round pick then on the best OL they can get. Really?? Doh!
Honestly with Martz on board, unless they really really suck badly this year, I hope Lovie/Martz don't get canned for a mediocre record. I'd like to see Martz get a two year shot at this given that Angelo has not given them anything to work with for this upcoming season.
I agree with Faulk except that only time will tell if Cutler is the best qb Martz has taken over. As of right now, Warner is obviously the best qb Martz has coached!
I agree, and that's what I was saying before Martz came on board. Success will only go as far as the o-line takes us. Go Bears!
