Jacque Jones, who wore out his welcome with the Cubs in less than two seasons and didn't play in the major leagues last season, has returned to the Minnesota Twins, agreeing to a minor-league contract.
Jones, who will turn 35 in April, began his major-league career with Minnesota in 1999 before joining the Cubs in 2006. He hit .285 with 27 home runs that season but alienated fans by claiming he was the target of racial taunts and hate mail.
The outfielder's best season came in 2002, when he hit .300 with 27 homers and 85 RBI.

You can't be serious!!! Remember when a fan threw a baseball at his head? How is that his fault or him wearing out his welcome? Surprise Surprise he is not the first cub or former cub to claim racial taunts.

Yes, Billy, I remember when that happend. It was a drunk woman in the bleachers who didn't know any better. That hardly screams racist assassin.
As for Jones wearing out his welcome, he did so by being a bad fielder with no arm and a bad baserunner who frequently got picked off or thrown out on the bases. But wait, he did hit 27 homers one season. That's all I need to hear. Send him to Cooperstown right away! Who cares about sucking at every other aspect of the game! And if you don't think so you must be a racist.
Jones along with Bradley? same thing maybe the problem is the Cubs fans.
Since he was "run out of town" or as some call it, traded, Jones has put up a line of .147/.239/.207/.446.
Not a typo, a .207 "slugging" pct.
What were they thinking!
Damn you, geniuses!
Best of luck to a good ballplayer and, more importantly, a good guy.
He gave 110% as a Cub and the treatment he got in Chicago was shameful.
Since he was run out of town, the Cubs have only spent $78,000,000 trying to find someone else who could hit .285 with 27 HRs LEFT-HANDED and haven't even come close.
To all you geniuses who rode him unmercifully: Nice job!
