LOS ANGELES -- Kirk Hinrich returned Tuesday after missing one game because of the flu and participated in the Bulls' 90-minute practice and weightlifting session on the USC campus. But John Salmons remained behind in Oakland, Calif., after spending the night at a local hospital with nausea.

"Hopefully, we'll get John here tonight or Wednesday," coach Vinny Del Negro said. "Kirk is still a little pale and lost some weight, but he's feeling better."

The stomach flu bug is spreading through the team at the front end of a season-high, seven-game trip. Luol Deng and some personnel from the team traveling party are suffering from minor effects as well.

"It's not great timing," Del Negro said.
Salmons replaced Hinrich in the starting lineup during Monday's matinee loss to Golden State and scored a team-high 25 points. Del Negro said a determination of Salmons' availability would be made at Wednesday's morning shootaround at Staples Center. Del Negro said Hinrich would return to the starting lineup either way.

"I feel a lot better," Hinrich said. "I couldn't keep anything down and had the sweats and chills. I got an IV Monday before the game, but I was exhausted. I had no energy and was sleeping on and off in the training room while watching the game. But I'm ready to go Wednesday."
