The Los Angeles Times reports The Dodgers are close to signing Reed Johnson to a one-year deal to be their fourth outfielder, according to baseball sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the deal hadn't been completed.
The Dodgers are also interested in outfielder Garret Anderson, Jason Repko and Xavier Paul to replace the vacancy left by Juan Pierre when he was traded to the White Sox in December.
Last week, the Cubs completed a deal with outfielder Xavier Nady, who hit .305 with 25 homers two years ago. The Cubs have been looking for a replacement for the oft-injured Reed Johnson as a fourth outfielder. Nady has the most upside, if he is healthy, because of his power and age.
FoxSports's Ken Rosenthal also tweeted that the Marlins have made an offer to ex-Cub Kevin Gregg too. Gregg spent two seasons as the Marlins closer, but would be returning in a setup capacity, according to Rosenthal.

this is so stupid. why would they trade reed yet again? first from bluejays to the cubs now cubs to l a. now one appreciates reed. have you seen his catches (unbelievable) but although it was a good deal for the dodgers still thats just plain dumb!!!!
Sox fans will cling to their 2005 World Series just like Bears fans are still clinging to their 1985 season and Super Bowl win. It will grow more pathetic with each passing year.
It's funny, I don't hear anyone talking about a White Sox dynasty any more either. After the 2005 season when the Sox got Jim Thome, all Sox fans were convinced that the White Sox were going to be the top team in the AL for the rest of the decade and were sure to win it all again in 2006 and beyond. Well, in the four seasons of the Jim Thome/post-WS era, the Sox have a grand total of two winning seasons, one division title, and one playoff victory. In that same time frame the Cubs have three winning seasons, two division titles, and zero playoff victories. Now if you want to debate that the Sox' lone playoff victory is better than the Cubs' zero playoff victories, go ahead, but the fact of the matter is the Sox dynasty never happened and they are back to the middle of the pack in the AL.
Keep on clinging to 2005 Sox fans. It will help you forget the fact that your team is back to being average and that your dynasty never happened.
The Cubs have had 3 winning seasons in a row and 2 consecutive playoff appearances in 07 and 08 but yet I still have to read garbage like this from White Sux fans. And the only reason they respond to Cubs articles is because no one gives 2 hoots in hell about the Sux so there are no responses to their articles. All the Sux fans need to grow up and get out of the sandbox.
LOL @ Them deleting my comment.Reed will hit 5 Hr's and 26 rbi's and play in 56 games this year then have another injury and miss 6-8 weeks then another 2-4 weeks. He's a starting CF to cubs fans.
Moto, stop with the language. Save it for when the cubbies
do not make the playoffs this year. Cubs need to trade
Alphonso Donso ASAP, even taking a loss. They will never
ever win with that expensive BOOB in left. HA HA>
Cards have wrapped it up for this year folks. Pirates will
finish ahead of Cubs. They are the team to watch. Cubs loose, Cubs loose. Go harry go.
