MIAMI -- A statue of Don Shula has been unveiled in front of the Miami Dolphins' new offices at their stadium, and the NFL is establishing an annual Coach Shula Award.

The award will honor a coach at any level who displays the integrity, achievement and positive impact on others exemplified by Shula.

The award was announced by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell at the statue unveiling before Sunday night's Pro Bowl. The statue shows Shula being carried by two of his players, replicating the celebration after the 1972 Dolphins won the Super Bowl to complete the league's only perfect season.

Among those attending the ceremony to honor Shula were about 20 of his former players, including Dan Marino and Bob Griese, and Florida Gov. Charlie Crist.
